Governance Structure

Strong data governance is the foundation of the DXP’s successful operations. Data governance is the means by which the DXP is managed, including the development and enforcement of the policies and processes to guide how decisions are made about how data is handled and used.

Committees

There are several committees that assist with governing the DXP with representatives from all DXP partners:

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee serves as the final decision-making body for the DXP and control resource allocations to sustain the DXP core functions.

Data Governance and Access Committee

The Data Governance and Access Committee develop, implement, and enforce approved policies for the DXP as well as provide oversight, management support, and conflict resolution for all sub-committees.

Research and Data Request Sub-committee

The Research and Data Request Sub-committee oversee and prioritize the DXP’s research agenda as well as review and approve all data requests to the DXP.

Security & Access Sub-committee

The Security & Access Sub-committee develop and implement policies and processes to maintain the security of the Statewide Longitudinal Data System, investigate cases of data misuse, and enforce security breach guidelines.
